Lists

The emergency checklist contains the list of items that you might need in an emergency.

The items are grouped in several categories.

At the top the total number of items still missing from your emergency kit is listed alongside the alert icon. This will dissapear as soon as all your items are ready.

The number of items missing is also displayed when the application is closed as a badge on the application icon.

List of items per category

When a category is selected, the list of emergency items belonging to that category is displayed.

An item can be marked as ready just by clicking on the unchecked  icon. In the same way, an item that is ready can be marked as pending just by clicking on the checked icon.

Items that expire (e.g. Bottled drinking water) will contain a subtitle indicating the next date of renewal (but only if they have been checked).

Marking items as ready

Marking items as ready/pending

When an item that expires is marked as ready, a dialog appears confirming that the item is ready, and that a reminder has been added to the calendar.

The reminder will be a recurrent reminder for a specified number of months.

If the item doesn't expire, then the dialog will only contain the confirmation that the item is now ready.

If an expirable item was ready and is now marked as pending, all the calendar reminders will be removed.

Item detail

Item detail view

When an item is selected, the detail screen will display additional detail about that item.

It will contain a description that will have additional information abou the item, and it will also contain information about wether the item expires or no.

If the item expires there will be information about the periodicity of the renewal, the text of the calendar reminder and when is the next renewal (if the item is ready).

The item can be marked as ready by clicking  the unchecked  icon. In the same way, an item that is ready can be marked as pending just by clicking on the checked icon. (In the same way the list of items works).

Adding/editing

Adding/Editing/Deleting items

You might want to add additional items, remove unnecessary ones, add additional information to existing ones, transform a non-expirable item into an expirable item. IGetThru provides an easy way to manage your items.

Items can be deleted by swiping the finder from left to right on top of the selected element in the list of items screen.

By clicking the plus button on the same screen, a new item can be added to the selected category.

Items can be edited by selecting the edit button in the item detail screen. Once you have finished editing click the save button to save your changes.

Meeting points

Meeting points

In a major disaster or emergency, Civil Defence Centres are activated by volunteers. The centres are situated in primary schools or other community locations like community centres. It's a good idea to keep a note of your nearest Civil Defence Centre location in your home survival kit.

Besides this, it is good to pick two meeting places, one close to your home and the other outside your neighbourhood in case you can't return home.

In order to do that, type the address of your meeting point in the search bar and click Search. A pin (or more) will be dropped in the specified address. This pin can be dragged and dropped to fine tune the location of the meeting point.

Once the pin has been properly placed we can click on it, and by clicking the disclosure button, make that location a primary or a secondary meeting point.

Location

Sharing the location

During an emergency, it will be great if you could check the location of your relatives and friends, and also if they could check yours.

Broadcasting of your location is by default off, however you can turn it on by clicking the broadcast button.

Track friends/relatives

Track your relatives/friends

People who you have authorized to view your location, will get displayed your location in the map with an icon like this: person (It changes its color). The location is updated every 10 seconds, and if you click on the person icon, it will display the last time their location was broadcast.

List of authorized users

Authorizing other people to see your location

You can see the people that is sharing the location with you by clicking the  person button.

If you want to authorize someone to see your location, you can select Share my location. This will create an email to the person(s) that you want to authorize. (See below for how to accept an authorization request).

People can be deleted from this list by swiping your finger on the selected person from right to left.

Sharing location request

Adding someone to the list of persons you want to display on your map

When you receive an email from someone (as described above) who wants to share their location with you, you will have to click in the link included in the email.

This will open IGetThru and you will get an alert message asking you to confirm or ignore the request. If you confirm it, the person will be added to the list of people to display on your map. If you ignore it, the request will be ignored.
